| Hi none....this is my last post of the year...and well...on xanga..yeah..decided to shake things up and move to blogger...no specific reason why really...sometimes you just need a change of venue...and I think this will do that for me....http://ryanslifeandtimes.blogspot.com/...hit me up after the new year...anyways...
-I finished my shopping for Christmas the saturday before...wasnt hard at all...semi fun because I went by myself...the following sunday me and my brother went out to a few malls to do some me shopping...I got a pair of shoes..Zoom BBs..I like them alot..the yellow laces stand out like crazy....but..Christmas came and went just as fast as a blink of an eye...I..havent really gotten into the Christmas "spirit" in years...mainly because something always happens around that time that just kills my mood going into the new year...so yeah..this year I was kinda in a flinching mode...but yeah...my role when everyone gets here is to make sure everything and one isnt conflicting...smoothing things over basically...we were watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas...and somehow the meaning of Christmas came up...and 2 of them didnt get it other than presents being given..so I had to educate them on the current meaning..family..gatherings all that jazz..crazy I had to do that..I just hope they are better for it..doubt it...spoiled kids...anyways..we opened our gifts at midnight or a short time afterwards...I got some cologne,2 hoodies(Wake Forest and Washington),an Xbox 360,2 games...2 dvds...and a few other odds and ends...the xbox had an issue with it but I took it back the following morning....but that night it was me,one of my cousins and my brother staying up all night just talking about anything and everything..and while playing xbox360 online..it was really nice...I hadnt stayed up past 3 in a very very very long time...wasnt that hard...I ended up going to bed at 10am...felt weird getting into bed when the sun was coming up...
-The day after Christmas I went to hang out with Brad...we also hit a few malls because he had to exchange a few things...fun...after that we hit the Hawks/Pacers game...we got free tickets from our friend Sean..he works for the Hawks as a...I dont know the name of the occupation but we saw him at the game...anyways..the seats were really really nice..20 max rows up..was crazy...Hawks won but whos counting? lol...
-The Xbox360 is insane...theres so much to do on it other than videogames its not even funny....you can download tv shows,movies..you can be connected with your friends all over the world...I've talked to Nick a few times already and that makes me happy because I dont get to talk to him as much as I would like...then the videogames are sick..the basketball game is the realist thing I've seen ever...people look overly like their real life counterparts...the crowd stands up and says "Luuuuuuuukkkke" when Luke Walton shoots a 3...and they stand up down the stretch of a close game..you can run into the ref...crazy...I was on it the past few days until 3am..I cant live like this lol...
-The Suns are in a bit of an issue to me....interior defense is a glaring hole for me...they need to have Hill come off the bench to keep him rested and start Skinner...Amare cant defend the 5...not well anyways....
-I noticed on Sportscenter that they are comparing this years Pats to other great teams of the NFL....didnt they do the same thing with USC a few years back?....how did that go?...I'm just saying compare after the fact..not when they havent won a thing yet...oh rational....

| This week was overly busy one considering I'm out of school...crazy....even though I dont think it'll show in length...oh...hi none....
-Monday was my first real off day(meaning no work,no class) in a very long time....and I had planned to get some light gifts for the family..get some coffee...enjoy the scene and get a nap...then go out with lauren and TD that night...cool...well...I get the voicemail saying that due to scheduling issues the outing was moved up to 1pm...goodness....that accelerated everything for me...I went to SF coffee co in little 5 points...I didnt even really get to sit down and enjoy my frap(but dont get it twisted,I still enjoyed it)..so I had to take it to go...next up was to Philips Arena to pick up the gifts for my brother and mom(which were Nuggets/Hawks tickets,both big Iverson fans)...I even broke the law lol....there was no where to park out front of the arena so I just parked by the sidewalk...near the sign that said no parking anytime...and in front of a cop car....ooo risky lol..so I got the tickets and ran back to my car and sped off...then it was off to lauren's house....
-Somehow I got there like 5 mins early(the streak continues lol)...anyways I sit and wait for lauren to get ready and whatnot and we are off to pick up Nykia(who I didnt know was coming)....and then we were off to Top Spice Thai...so we get there and TD is already there and seated..then I realize...hm..I'm the only guy here...how did this happen?..maybe this wont be awkward...false...it was slightly...I just played the background in....well...almost every conversation come to think of it...subjects on reality tv...or any tv show for that matter...Harry Potter and old HS friends(I didnt really kick with anyone like that) all seemed to just pass me by...oh well...the food was good though...my spicy fried rice with shrimp wasnt overly spicy at all....pretty good...I also thought me and TD would be pretty awkward from the thanksgiving fiasco...hm...not really...I kept the conversation pretty light and casual...I think I'm over her...bigger and better things I suppose...anyways...after that TD departed and it was down to 3..so they wanted to go to the mall so we went(I voted no..but..again..we went lol)...goodness...shoe shopping is the worst lol...just sitting there....hey Ryan...how do these look?...blah...like shoes....why are you doing this to me lol...and on the car ride home somehow the subject of I came up...and they wouldnt let me deflect or dodge...it was horrible...on the small bright side Nykia said she was going to try to hook me up with one of her friends lol...::shrugs::..
-So the following days guess who starts texting me....TD...good guess....random if I've ever thought about it....asking if I knew anyone who fixes computers...cool..but once the convos about professions vs money hit...hm...interesting...I almost asked if she wanted to hang out or something..caught myself though...not falling for that one again..it will be on her from here on in..
-Me,Brad,his brother and his friend went to the Hawks/Heat game wednesday....it was cool...overtime game....James flaked at the last minute....no comment on that...but that behavior shouldnt be tolerated...anyways...I had nothing really invested in the game...but I just cant get behind Wade's 20+ FT attempts....at all..its just a different game I guess...okay..it is...whatever..after the game we headed up to Lindbergh to meet up with Josh to have a post game.....dinner?...sure...I tried a Guinness Beer..not like alot..but a sip...very..thick..no thanks.not bad....but no thanks....anyways....after all that we bounced....
-I picked up Lupe Fiasco's The Cool the other day..very impressed...very different tone than his first one..still heavily lyrical which I like..but more dark...which is an interesting look for him...I do believe the easy choice for album of the year..even though Jay-Z will get some looks...I havent gotten into all of the songs yet but there are atleast 5-7 standouts..and theres 20 tracks on it...so I have some time on my hands...lol

| Alot of recapping going on this time around....oh...hi none...
-Last monday I decided I was going to do something I had always been saying I should do...go downtown to a cafe or something like that and study or read....so I enlisted a friend who I knew would be down for something like that...Tony..so I shot him a text..and he was very much in...so after my 8am final(accounting,more on that later) I shot down and picked him up and we were off...so we went to a Starbucks that I had been to during my great escape,but I sat outside...so we did inside by the window(even though windows were everywhere)...anyways...we studied for like 2 and a half hours...and I thought it was pretty productive..and during the breaks you could just gaze out the windows and just people watch...
-The following tuesday me and Brad hit the Hawks/Raptors game...after my final we met up and walked Lenox mall a bit then to the game...when we were eating we ran into an old hallmate from my freshman year...which was cool...then Chad,his g/f,Amit,Xavier and Josh met up with us..which the more people can make it a little funner...anyways..the game was cool..Raptors won(shock?no) but literally no one was there...it was shameful...I dont care what day it was on....it was crazy...anyways the shock of the night was TJ Ford taking a shot in the head from Al Horford and hitting his head on the ground as a result...it was scary given his spine,neck issues prior..I fear for the kid..a thought crossed my mind that he should retire...sport is a contact kind of thing...and everytime he gets out there something bad could happen...but I guess thats any athlete..
-I got a photo i've taken of Kevin Durant published in this Seattle blog report...but the site is NowPublic.com...I was shocked..and happy..but at the same time its not even in the top 30 of photos I've taken..but I guess it was for the specific entry...still cool though
-My exams went fairly well..I hope...my computer exam was a disaster..the thing with computer programming is that you can read the instructions on what you should do....you do it....and get to the very end...and it doesnt come out right...so you have to go alllllll the way back and read do everything to see what the issue is....the exam time wasnt very long...so I really messed up on it..I went to pick up my jumpdrive the next morning and he said "wow you really struggled" and I explained it to him...I mean I got a D on the exam...but it dropped my grade to a B...which kinda sucks...my accounting final felt okay...some I knew off the bat..others not so much...as well as my math...but I think my math grade is a B regardless..accounting is kinda in the air..
-The girl from work is back..and I thought we would have the understanding of her staying away from me...apparently not...a small hi here...a small comment there...then its her following me and asking me could I take her home after work.goodness...snowballed in a day didnt it?....anyways...I took her home...reluctantly....shes done it before..but normally she'll say I found someone else....crap..not that day...the conversation home wasnt awkward...talked about grades...winter break...it wasnt a long ride home(good)...I think I have a real problem with closing doors and keeping them closed with people...its on my to do list...once your out...you're out....
-And most recently(friday) I went to Jon's grad party down at uwg....I'm not a party person..but I went last time for his birthday...and that was like a party..so...I went...and had a terrible time...I think for my personality at a party would need to have alot of people I know...or I go with someone who I know who I can sit and talk to...well....I got neither....Jon was all over the place and the place was more a circle of people who all knew each other and seeing each other one more time before school got out..and I was a bit out of the loop....so I left an hour and some change into it...I told Jon thanks for having me but I'm leaving....so I bounced....then today I went to his grad..which was cool...I didnt stay very long afterwards though...I instead met up with james who I hadnt seen in a long time..we went to see I am Legend..which was an okay movie...but the book ruined it for me...like..the movie had a way different ending...but thats fine...most people didnt know it was a book anyways...sadly...theres my nerd moment....

| This week has been crazy for me...literally everything that could happen,has...ups and downs...and I think the craziest part is that I'm still in the middle of most of it...so its hard to get the right perspective on everything...
-Last saturday I was downtown(shock right?) but this time for Jon's birthday party he was having...it was at the M-Bar...which was cool I guess...I dont really do the trendy club thing...but I was already put off because I couldnt find the darn place....I was literally lost for about an hour....no idea how I found it..nor could I tell you right now where it is..and somehow I was still early lol..anyways...I was chilling at the bar(watching college football) when they all came in...anyways we were in the VIP section(ooo fancy lol)...I didnt have a drink or anything though..just a salad...which led me to think...was is this place...its like a club...loud music...drinks...but..there was no spot to like dance...::shrugs::...whatever...its not like I was dancing anyways...but I didnt know really anyone..well...like 4 people...but the ratio of known and not known wasnt in my favor so I spent most of the night just kinda sitting around...but not in like a isolated kind of way...it had a nice flow to it...but CC was around and spent a nice amount of time talking to me..she was pretty..friendly for most of the night...wont read into that one but just noted that she was..well after the party was over the plan was to hit the Janelle Monae concert she was having...but somehow that fell through so that was really that night in a nutshell..later that night Jon hit me saying that Sandra had been raving about me,asking if we looked good together and stuff like that....which took me by complete surprise because I dont think I said more than a sentence to her and most of the night she was on one side of the room and I was on the other....interesting...
-A reoccurring theme for me this past week was pressure...mainly with school...I had a math project due at the top of the week..in which I despise public speaking of any sort...but I had to do it..and luckily I had a powerpoint presentation to distract people...so that kinda helped...anyways...I got a 105 out of a 100 on the project...so I was pretty happy about that...I didnt think I did that well...but..do I ever?...so this weekend(and a little prior to that) has been dedicated to studying..I had a final on friday in which I really think I bombed..I have no idea why really...I think it was the time constraints that I had...with computer programming you have to be really specific with everything and if one thing goes wrong in the end..you have to go alllllll the way back to the coding to see if you had anything wrong in the spelling or notation...and you cant be as effective as you want to be in an hour if you keep messing it up...I was so frustrated...I just hope it doesnt bomb out my grade like I think it will....anyways..I have an exam tomorrow at 8am...then one tuesday at 1pm...then I'm done...I really hope these grades dont kill my holiday like the last few years have..its almost expected now...
-Theres something funny about the past...you can be done with it...but sometimes it isnt done with you...just when things couldnt get more hectic my ex shows back up again...wanting to hang out...asking questions like "are you dating anyone?" type questions....or saying things like "I think about what could have been with us alot"...so...would it be safe to say that she semi has feelings for me?...lol...oh godness....I just have to give really really vague answers and say things like "nah I dont think about what could have been with us"...ooo...ice cold...lol...but why?....why cant you make a mistake and move on the best you can?...terrible really...she just has that innate ability to just show up all of a sudden..its crazy...
-Speaking of innate ability...the chick from work(who I exiled from my speaking world) just calls me one day and pretended like nothing happened!...goodness...I looked at the number and was like "um...I've seen this number before...just not sure where"....sure enough...shes asking me how I'm doing...um...get away..
-On a lighter note I hit Starbucks with Tony on tuesday...it wasnt a long outing..I hadnt seen him in a while so we just had to catch up a little bit...it was cool though...
-I also hadnt seen Alvin in a while either...hit a coffeeshop with him as well....shockingly enough he was in the same situation as me(well with better results)..he likes a girl..girl likes him...but is inconsistent in terms of actions...yeah that was fun..I was super tired though..but again...I still had fun
-I saw a trailer for one of my favorite cartoons growing up...Speed Racer!...I'm excited for May 08
-I feel we are so connected in todays world....internet...phones,etc..but yet...we are so isolated from each other..like go downtown..and walk around...and how many people arent on their phones or hooked up to an iPod?..I mean I do the iPod thing...but everyone is so preoccupied with everything but whats physically going on in front of them...its crazy..

| Hi some...some kind of week....i'll just jump and go...
-Last week I was suppose to hang out with TD...at some point in the week...initially we were going to go downtown have dinner and maybe bowl or something..cool...well that dissolved...fine fine...happens....so that friday she sent me a text message asking if I wanted to go to a movie with her that saturday....sure....so fast forward..I'm kinda waiting around all day waiting for some kind of message from her saying one way or another if we were going or not...so..around...7:30...I text her and ask if she still wanted to go...and this was the answer I got "no"....hm..interesting...but not in a good way.....I dont think i've ever been canceled on twice in one week....I couldnt get an explanation or anything?..I guess I could have asked...but I have the courtesy to tell someone why I decided not to go...but I guess doing one to others only applies to moms and grandmothers teaching their young kids...the application is lacking...sorry...got off track...but yeah..I havent spoken to her since..I'm pretty put off by her latest thing....there have been other issues similar to this but you(more me) try to give people benefit of the doubt even though looking back on it...they never did anything to earn that benefit in the 1st place...but yeah...I dont think I'll call/email/text her...if she wants to speak to me,she'll know where to find me...I'm kind of a sucker for putting anything more than minimal stock in this anyways...back to the drawing board....
-Anyways...monday I went up to Atlantic Station after class to look for a new bracelet and have a mini-adventure...it worked well minus the light rain..but it didnt bother me that much....refreshing...just wish I had an umbrella or something...anyways I found a bracelet at the Gap for under $3..so I was really happy about that...
-I had 2 tests wednesday...they were both kinda hard...my computer one had me looking at the screen for like 15 mins before I had to get the wheels going in my head...programming doesnt just fall out of me yet lol...but its like a bike...once you get going..you'll be fine...just dont stop lol....but I think I did well on both....I hope..give me some wiggle room just in case I seriously slack on my finals...I also spent thursday morning from 9 to around 11:30 on my semester project for math....dumb...I have to present it monday...grr...public speaking....
-Speaking of thursday,I went out with Lauren that night(super long day)...we went to Fellini's for pizza...talked or whatever...talked about our friends....Jackie(goodness)..stuff like that...after that we went to Churchill Grounds for a jazz show...which was cool...I think jazz is my favorite genre of music...multiple instruments working seamlessly together...beautiful..simply....anyways...I even had a small glass of wine...wasnt that great(it was warm...ew)...it was a house merlot...the taste was fine but I couldnt drink much at a time because it was warm! lol...fun times though....
-Listening to Bill Walton is fun...I cant believe I hated him at one point in time...maybe it was me....
-Everyone is crazy...just different degrees
-Kanye's 1st verse on "Stronger" is wow....I have no idea how I let that slip through my ears...oh yeah....do you know how sick his next album will be?..
-Speaking of albums...Lupe is coming...the cool....Dec 18th...I'm there...coolest kid what?...
-Phx/GS was a vintage game...like every 4 seconds someone was scoring..the flow was crazy...
-The Knicks are completely terrible...which is baffling because they have talent...like playoff talent...see ya Isiah...no one likes you outside of Detroit...
-Indie music has been dominating everything for me...Snowden...Big Moves..kinda defines me lol...independent of mainstream....atleast in my mind...
